WHEELS THAT HEAL CAR CLUB

Wheels That Heal Car Club was founded in the fall of 2003 with the purpose of hosting car shows and events for the benefit of local charities and families in need.

From the start, we were chosen to host some of the area's biggest car events such as the Salisbury Festival and the Delmarva Chicken Festival.  Over the years we have added shows and cruise-ins at Wheels on the Waterfront, Blessing of the Combines, and the Salisbury Airport Wings and Wheels in addition to staging our signature Cruise for a Cause.  Cruise for a Cause had its start as a one-time event to help a three-year old Seaford, Delaware girl who was in need of a kidney transplant.  The event was soon to become an annual gathering of car enthusiasts staging at one location and "cruising" to another to raise money for families in need.  Over the years we have raised hundreds of thousands of dollars for these families and causes.

In 2006 we took over the Salisbury Cruise-in at Shoppers World Shopping Center on the third Saturday of each month from April through September.  A few years later we started a benefit night for each month such as Operation We Care and Salisbury night out for our local police department.

With the death of one of our founders in 2010 a separate fund was established to help local causes with smaller, yet no less important, needs.  This fund was named The Barbara Mixter Memorial Fund and has donated over twenty thousand dollars to its causes.

We invite all persons with a desire to help other to join us.  For membership information click here and complete the application or contact us via the email form here.
